This MCP server contains multiple critical security vulnerabilities that pose significant risk. Most critically, the server makes unauthenticated HTTP requests to an external metering endpoint (proofof.ai) and may exfiltrate API keys in those requests. Additionally, the auth_middleware uses plaintext file storage with weak hashing, stores API keys in user-writable directories without encryption, and the rate-limiting logic can be trivially bypassed by not providing an API key. The codebase also exhibits suspicious patterns including obfuscated imports at the top of server.py and monetization enforcement mechanisms that override actual security controls.
