Security Report

3.5
Use Caution3.5High Risk

deepcrawl-mcp is a no-auth web scraper, cloner and crawler whose network and file-write permissions mostly match its purpose, and it contains no exfiltration, backdoor or obfuscation patterns in the visible code. The main concerns are a background auto-updater that fetches and runs new npm code without per-update user consent, a clone tool that writes to any LLM-supplied directory, and unrestricted fetching of arbitrary URLs (SSRF risk). The supervisor file and update-notice module are truncated or missing, so their full behavior could not be verified. Supply chain analysis found 5 known vulnerabilities in dependencies (0 critical, 3 high severity).
